For auditors and team leaders, the R8 kit includes both a penetration probe for cooking and immersion temperatures and a dishwasher/pie warmer probe. The latter has a rack clip, so positioning the sensor in the water flow of dishwashers or near pies in a warmer, without it shifting when the door’s closed, is easy.

A fast and precise combination Infrared/Probe Instrument, the R8 really offers the best of both measurement techniques. The infrared D:S (optics) ratio is 11:1, meaning quite small targets can be measured without the need to be extremely close. For example, the measured area one metre from the R8, is just 90mm in diameter. The laser pointer allows you to take full advantage of this, so increasing the speed measurements – especially when carrying out a complete store audit.

The R8’s extra measurement functions can save time too. For example, hold the trigger and scan a complete chiller - then read the minimum, maximum, average and differential (max-min) temperatures. It’s all there on a clear, backlit display - very quick and again, easy.
